Day 12

Tom and I took a long walk on the beach in the afternoon. The weather is still stormy but it looked like we might be able to go out without getting wet. I was amazed how many people were down on the beach. The wind was howling and there were storm clouds but the temperature was nice and it was Saturday and people wanted to go out and have some fun... no matter what. Because of the wind, all the kite surfers were out. Some of these guys do amazing things. The wind caught one guy and threw him up in the air about 30 feet. Tom said that the kite surfers are not allowed to come within a certain distance of the shore because the wind can pick them up and literally throw them into the palm trees along the beach. I took some video, but I couldn't get it to load onto my blog. But then I went to YouTube and found video that was taken on the exact same spot as I took my video, so take a look. Remember that there is a surfer attached to every kite you see.

So, Adam and Jacob, before you get to thinking that this looks like a lot of fun, take a look at the next video (this was not filmed on Boracay).
