I have had almost 1200 views on this blog since I started. I think there are more than just my family looking at this. Everyone smile and say, "Cheese." I appreciate all those who have been following this. You probably thought it would be more of a travel log through the tropical paradise of the Philippines and here I am talking about enemas. Sorry about that. But admit it, you have learned a few things, right?
We've talked about the liver and colon and you are all now using your tongue scrappers. How about sweating? This is another way our body detoxes. In yoga practice, if Tom doesn't see me sweating profusely, he tells me I need to work harder. Exercise isn't just about building muscle and burning calories. The number one most important thing is to break a good sweat and help clean some of the junk out of your body. Then, go take a shower before the toxins you sweated out get reabsorbed.
The average person sweats between .8 liters and 1.4 liters for each hour of exercise. You can tell how much you are sweating by weighing yourself before and after exercising. The difference in weight is what you lost in sweat. This only works if you didn't drink anything or go to the restroom between weighings. You have to replace this water and you also need to replace the electrolytes you lost. The easiest way to do this is to add a little sea salt to your water. Sea salt is made up of a wide variety of minerals, not just sodium chloride. This will do the same thing Gatorade does without all the sugar and other junk that's in it.
