Day 41

Today we traveled to Cebu which is in the southern part of the Philippines. It was about a 45 minute plane ride. Cebu is a very large city but I see the same kinds of polar opposites here as in other parts of the Philippine. It is the contrast between the rich and the poor. There is so much poverty here that it is heart breaking. We are staying in a beautiful, luxury, 20 story apartment building. But looking out the window, right next to us, are dozens of "squatter's" shacks. This is the way it is all over the city. Anyone out there have a great idea on how to alleviate the world's poverty? Where is that magic wand of mine?

We have a busy few days planned here. There are several things that Tom and Karen can't get in Boracay that they need to buy and I have a doctor appointment. I'm sure there will be some fun in between.
