Today I had the great privilege of attending a session at the Cebu Temple. The session was in English, which surprised me. There were several missionary couples from the U.S. and I was greeted warmly by them. They all wanted to know what I was doing in this part of the world. The spirit was strong there and it was such a blessing to be in the Lord's house.
This afternoon I went and saw a doctor who is both a M.D. and a naturopath. I kind of had a mixed experience with him. I took him the results of the blood work I had done the day before, which showed multiple irregularities. He spent less than 10 seconds looking at the three pages of information and just blew it all off. He took only a short medical history and seemed more interested in the program I am doing in Boracay than anything else. He said that everything thing that I was currently doing was exactly what he would recommend. I had a full scan of my abdomen done. There were no tumors but he found problems with both my kidneys and liver. I am coming back to Cebu in a couple of weeks for a colonoscopy.
Tonight we went to a lovely resort to celebrate Karen's mother's birthday. She is a very lovely lady. I think Karen said her mother was turning 91 but I am not sure. She is still very active and is the height of elegance and graciousness. Karen's family was all gathered for the event and it was fun to sit back and watch their personalities come out and to get to know them.
Here is the link to where we had the party:
